A. TITEL

Verdrag tussen de Regering van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en de Regering van het Hasjemitische Koninkrijk Jordanië betreffende een tijdelijke plaatsing van troepen van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in Jordanië;

D. PARLEMENT

Het in rubriek H hieronder opgenomen Zesde Protocol van 28 september 2020 tot verlenging van het Verdrag van 2 oktober 2014 behoeft ingevolge artikel 7, onderdeel e, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen niet de goedkeuring van de Staten-Generaal.

G. INWERKINGTREDING

Het Zesde Protocol, opgenomen in rubriek H hieronder, is ingevolge het gestelde in artikel 2 van dat Protocol op 28 september 2020 in werking getreden.

Het Verdrag van 2 oktober 2014, waarvan de geldigheid op 2 oktober 2020 zou aflopen, blijft ingevolge het gestelde in artikel 1 van het Zesde Protocol van kracht tot de datum van inwerkingtreding van een meerjarig statusverdrag tussen het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en het Hasjemitische Koninkrijk Jordanië of tot 2 oktober 2021, al naar gelang wat het eerste is.

Wat betreft het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden, geldt het Zesde Protocol, evenals het Verdrag, voor Nederland (het Europese deel).

H. VERLENGING

Op 28 september 2020 is te Amman een Zesde Protocol tot stand gekomen tussen het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en het Hasjemitische Koninkrijk Jordanië, waarin het Verdrag van 2 oktober 2014, waarvan de geldigheid zou aflopen op 2 oktober 2020, wordt verlengd. De tekst van het Protocol luidt als volgt:


Sixth Protocol establishing the prolongation of the Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on a temporary deployment of troops of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan

The Kingdom of the Netherlands

and

the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,

Referring to the Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on a temporary deployment of troops of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan, concluded on 2 October 2014 (hereinafter ‘the Agreement’),

Recalling the Protocol on prolongation of the Agreement of 28 September 2015, the Second Protocol on prolongation of the Agreement of 5 October 2016, the Third Protocol on prolongation of the Agreement of 16 October 2017, the Fourth Protocol on prolongation of 23 September 2018, and the Fifth Protocol on prolongation of the Agreement of 15 October 2019,

Recalling the expiry of the Agreement as per 2 October 2020,

Desiring to continue their good co-operation as reflected in the Agreement,

Have agreed on the following:

Article 1

The Agreement, which is due to expire on 2 October 2020, shall be prolonged from 2 October 2020 until a long-term Status of Forces Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan enters into force, at which date the Agreement shall be terminated, or until 2 October 2021, whichever date is earlier.

Article 2

This Sixth Protocol shall enter into force on the date of its last signature, and shall, if the date of that signature is later than 2 October 2020, have retroactive effect to that date.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned, being duly authorized thereto by their respective Governments, have signed this Protocol.

In overeenstemming met artikel 19, tweede lid, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen heeft de Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken bepaald dat het Zesde Protocol zal zijn bekendgemaakt in Nederland (het Europese deel) op de dag na de datum van uitgifte van dit Tractatenblad.
