A. TITEL

Verdrag tussen de Regering van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en de Regering van het Hasjemitische Koninkrijk Jordanië betreffende een tijdelijke plaatsing van troepen van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in Jordanië;

D. PARLEMENT

Het Tweede Protocol tot verlenging van het Verdrag van 5 oktober 2016 behoeft ingevolge artikel 7, onderdeel e, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen niet de goedkeuring van de Staten-Generaal.

G. INWERKINGTREDING

De bepalingen van het Verdrag van 2 oktober 2014, waarvan de geldigheid op 2 oktober 2016 zou aflopen, zijn ingevolge het gestelde in artikel 2 van het Tweede Protocol met terugwerkende kracht tot 2 oktober 2016, op 5 oktober 2016 in werking getreden.

Het Verdrag blijft ingevolge het gestelde in artikel 1 van het Tweede Protocol van kracht tot de missie voltooid is of tot 2 oktober 2017, al naar gelang van wat het eerst is.

Wat betreft het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden, geldt het Tweede Protocol, evenals het Verdrag van 2 oktober 2014, alleen voor Nederland (het Europese deel).

H. VERLENGING

Op 5 oktober 2016 is een Tweede Protocol tot stand gekomen tussen het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en het Hasjemitische Koninkrijk Jordanië, waarin het Verdrag van 2 oktober 2014, waarvan de geldigheid op 2 oktober 2016 zou aflopen, wordt verlengd. De tekst van dit Tweede Protocol luidt als volgt:

Second Protocol establishing the prolongation of the Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on a temporary deployment of troops of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan

The Kingdom of the Netherlands,

and

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Referring to the Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on a temporary deployment of troops of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Jordan, concluded on 2 October 2014 (hereinafter “the Agreement”),

Recalling the Protocol on prolongation of the Agreement of 28 September 2015,

Recalling the expiry of the Agreement as per 2 October 2016,

Desiring to continue their good co-operation as reflected in the Agreement,

Have agreed on the following:

Article 1

The Agreement, which is due to expire on 2 October 2016, shall be prolonged from 2 October 2016 until the completion of the mission, as referred to in Article 2, and under the terms of Article 13 of the Agreement, but not later than 2 October 2017.

Article 2

This Second Protocol shall enter into force on the date of its last signature, and shall, if the date of that signature is later than 2 October 2016, have retroactive effect to that date.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the undersigned, being duly authorized thereto by their respective Governments, have signed this Protocol.

In overeenstemming met artikel 19, tweede lid, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen heeft de Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken bepaald dat het Tweede Protocol zal zijn bekendgemaakt in Nederland (het Europese deel) op de dag na de datum van uitgifte van dit Tractatenblad.
