Het in rubriek H hieronder opgenomen in nota’s van 29 juni 2016 vervatte verlengingsverdrag behoeft ingevolge artikel 7, onderdeel e, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen niet de goedkeuring van de Staten-Generaal.

G. INWERKINGTREDING

Het verdrag, waarvan de geldigheid op 8 juli 2016 zou aflopen, blijft ingevolge het gestelde in de tweede alinea van de in rubriek H hieronder opgenomen nota Nr. I en de op één na laatste alinea van nota Nr. II van kracht voor een volgende periode van één jaar, tot 8 juli 2017.

Het in rubriek H hieronder opgenomen in nota’s van 29 juni 2016 vervatte verlengingsverdrag is ingevolge het gestelde in de op één na laatste alinea van nota Nr. I en nota Nr. II op 29 juni 2016 in werking getreden en zal van kracht zijn tot 8 juli 2017.

Wat betreft het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden, geldt het in nota’s van 29 juni 2016 vervatte verlengingsverdrag, evenals het verdrag, alleen voor Nederland (het Europese deel).

H. VERLENGING

Bij notawisseling van 29 juni 2016 is een verlengingsverdrag tot stand gekomen tussen het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en het Verenigd Koninkrijk waarin het Verdrag van 8 juli 2015, waarvan de geldigheid op 8 juli 2016 zou aflopen, in overeenstemming met artikel 12 van het Verdrag van 8 juli 2015 wordt verlengd tot 8 juli 2017. De Engelse tekst van dit in nota’s vervatte verdrag luidt als volgt:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and has the honour to refer to the Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom concerning the location of a part of the diplomatic mission of the United Kingdom in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at The Hague, constituted by exchange of notes at The Hague on 8 July 2015 (the Agreement), which will terminate, in accordance with its terms, on 8 July 2016.

Desiring to continue the allocation of appropriate offices to the United Kingdom for the performance of the functions of its mission, the Kingdom of the Netherlands proposes that the Agreement shall be extended for an additional period of one year, so that the Agreement shall, under the conditions of its Article 12, remain in force until 8 July 2017.

If the foregoing is acceptable to the United Kingdom, the Kingdom of the Netherlands proposes that this Note and the confirmative Note in reply of the United Kingdom shall constitute an agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, which shall enter into force on the date of the Note in reply, and shall remain in force until 8 July 2017.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland the assurances of its highest consideration.

BRITISH EMBASSY THE HAGUE

Her Britannic Majesty’s Embassy presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and has the honour to refer to the Agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom concerning the location of a part of the diplomatic mission of the United Kingdom in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at The Hague, constituted by exchange of notes at The Hague on 8 July 2015 (the Agreement), and to its Note Verbale of 29 June 2016 on this Agreement, which reads as follows:

The foregoing is acceptable to the Government of the United Kingdom and the Embassy confirms that the Agreement shall, under the conditions of its Article 12, be extended with a year until 8 July 2017 and that the Ministry’s Note and this Note in reply shall constitute an agreement between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, which shall enter into force on the date of this Note in reply, and shall remain in force until 8 July 2017.

Her Britannic Majesty’s Embassy avails itself of the opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands the assurance of its highest consideration.

In overeenstemming met artikel 19, tweede lid, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen heeft de Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken bepaald dat het in de nota’s van 29 juni 2016 vervatte verlengingsverdrag zal zijn bekendgemaakt in Nederland (het Europese deel) op de dag na de datum van uitgifte van dit Tractatenblad.
