D. PARLEMENT

Bij brieven van 26 maart 2001 (Kamerstukken II 2000/2001, 27 666 (R1680) nr. 1) is het Verdrag in overeenstemming met artikel 2, eerste en tweede lid, en artikel 5, eerste en tweede lid, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen overgelegd aan de Eerste en de Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal, de Staten van de Nederlandse Antillen en de Staten van Aruba.

De toelichtende nota die de brieven vergezelde, is ondertekend door de Staatssecretaris van Verkeer en Waterstaat J. M. DE VRIES en de Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken J. J. VAN AARTSEN.

De goedkeuring door de Staten-Generaal is verleend op 7 mei 2001.

Denemarken, 2 juni 2003

In connexion with Denmark's ratification of the Tampere Convention on the Provision of Telecommunications Resources for Disaster Mitigation and Relief Operations (``the Convention") Denmark declares that to the extent to which certain provisions of the Convention fall within the area of responsibility of the European Community, the full implementation of the Convention by Denmark has to be done in accordance with the procedures of this international Organisation.

... Denmark's ratifications normally include the entire Kingdom of Denmark including the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Consequently, no Territorial Application applies in connection with the above-mentioned ratification.

Venezuela, 3 april 2003

Under the provisions of article 11, paragraph 6, of the Tampere Convention on the Provision of Telecommunication Resources for Disaster Mitigation and Relief Operations (ICET-98), the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela makes a specific reservation to paragraph 3 of that article. It therefore does not consider itself bound by arbitration as a means of dispute settlement, nor does it recognize the binding jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice.

Zweden, 13 september 2004

To the extent to which certain provisions of the Tampere Convention on the Provision of Telecommunications Resources for Disaster Mitigation and Relief Operations fall within the area of responsibility of the European Community, the full implementation of the Convention by Sweden has to be done in accordance with the procedures of this international organisation.

G. INWERKINGTREDING

De bepalingen van het Verdrag zijn ingevolge zijn artikel 12, derde lid, op 8 januari 2005 in werking getreden.

Het Verdrag is ingevolge artikel 12, derde lid, voor hetKoninkrijk der Nederlanden eveneens op 8 januari 2005 in werking getreden.

Wat betreft het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden, geldt het Verdrag voor het gehele Koninkrijk.

Voor elke staat die na 8 januari 2005 definitief ondertekent of een akte van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding, goedkeuring of toetreding nederlegt, treedt het Verdrag ingevolge zijn artikel 12, vierde lid, in werking dertig dagen na de datum van de definitieve ondertekening of de instemming te worden gebonden.
