In de vertaling dient overal voor „streektaal" en „streektalen" „regionale taal" en „regionale talen" te worden gelezen.

D. PARLEMENT

Artikel 1 van de Wet van 26 januari 1996 (Stb. 136) luidt als volgt:

„Het op 5 november 1992 te Straatsburg tot stand gekomen Europees Handvest voor streektalen of talen van minderheden, waarvan de Engelse en Franse tekst is geplaatst in Tractatenblad 1993, 1 en de vertaling in het Nederlands in Tractenblad 1993, 199, wordt goedgekeurd voor Nederland."

Deze Wet is gecontrasigneerd door de Staatssecretaris van Binnenlandse Zaken J. KOHNSTAMM en de Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken H. A. F. M. O. VAN MIERLO.

E. BEKRACHTIGING

Behalve de aldaar genoemde Staat hebben nog de volgende Staten in overeenstemming met artikel 18 van het Handvest een akte van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of goedkeuring nedergelegd bij de Secretaris-Generaal van de Raad van Europa:

G. INWERKINGTREDING

De bepalingen van het Handvest zullen ingevolge artikel 19, eerste lid, op 1 maart 1998 in werking treden voor Finland, Hongarije, Kroatië, Liechtenstein, het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en Noorwegen.

Wat het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden betreft, zal het Handvest alleen voor Nederland gelden.

Voor een Lid-Staat die na 30 november 1997 zijn instemming aan het Handvest te worden gebonden tot uitdrukking brengt, treedt het ingevolge artikel 19, tweede lid, in werking op de eerste dag van de maand die volgt na het verstrijken van een tijdvak van drie maanden na de datum van nederlegging van zijn akte van bekrachtiging, aanvaarding of goedkeuring.

Reservation

The Republic of Croatia declares, in pursuance of Article 21 of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, that in respect of the Republic of Croatia the provisions of Article 7, paragraph 5, of the Charter shall not apply.

Declarations
