Het in de nota's vervatte verdrag is bij brieven van 15 maart 1995 in overeenstemming met artikel 13, eerste lid, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen ter kennis gebracht van de Eerste en Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal.

Het in de nota's vervatte verdrag is voor onbepaalde tijd verlengd ingevolge de in rubriek J hieronder afgedrukte nota's.

Op 5 februari en 19 maart 1996 zijn te Rome nota's gewisseld tot verlenging van het onderhavige verdrag. De tekst van bedoelde nota's luidt als volgt:

Note Verbale

The Royal Netherlands Embassy presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy and with reference to the Embassy's Note no. ROM/PA-103581 of 1 December 1994 concerning the Agreement governing the status of personnel seconded to the Europol Drugs Unit in The Hague and the Ministry's Note of 24 January 1995, has the honour to propose on behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands that the said Agreement, which is formed by aforesaid Notes, shall be extendend from 9 February 1996 for an indefinite period.

If the foregoing proposal is acceptable to the Government of the Republic of Italy, the Embassy proposes that this note and the affirmative note of the Ministry together shall constitute an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Government of the Republic of Italy which shall enter into force on the date of receipt of the affirmative note of the Ministry, with retroactive effect to 9 February 1996.

The Royal Netherlands Embassy avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy the assurances of its highest consideration.

Nota Verbale

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy presents its compliments to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and has the honour to acknowledge receipt of the latter's Note no.ROM/PA-1075 of 51 February 1996, worded as follows:

The Ministry has the honour to inform the Embassy that the Government of the Republic of Italy agrees to the contents of the aforesaid Note and that Embassy's Note and this note of acknowledgment together shall constitute an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Italy and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands which shall enter into force on the date of receipt of this Note, with retroactive effect to 9 February 1996.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands the assurances of its highest consideration.

Ingevolge het in de op een na laatste alinea van nota Nr. II gestelde is het verlengingsverdrag op 20 maart 1996 in werking getreden, met terugwerkende kracht tot 9 februari 1996.

Ingevolge artikel 7, onderdeel e, van de Rijkswet goedkeuring en bekendmaking verdragen behoeft het verdrag tot verlenging niet de goedkeuring van de Staten-Generaal.
